- Temperament & Family Fit
Saint Bernards are gentle giants, known for their loving and friendly nature. They are particularly good with young kids, making them wonderful family companions who thrive on affection and social interactions.
- Energy & Exercise
Although they may look imposing, Saint Bernards are relatively low-energy dogs, which means they are content with moderate exercise. A couple of leisurely walks and some playtime each day are usually sufficient to keep them happy and healthy.
- Care & Grooming
Caring for a Saint Bernard is quite manageable, as they only require monthly grooming due to their low shedding levels. Their thick coat does require occasional brushing to keep it healthy, but overall, they are not overly demanding in the grooming department.
- Training Notes
Training a Saint Bernard can be a pleasant experience due to their moderate trainability and eagerness to please. Consistent and positive reinforcement methods work best to help them become well-mannered companions.
